My family, husband Phil Hart, and daughter Ayanna, spent decades vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard, and still do. It is our home away from home. Our love affair with the island is covered extensively.
“When we bought our first house in Edgartown, which had been incorporated in 1614, we were, interestingly enough, only the second Black family to buy there, and that was in the 1980s,” she recalls. “But now, that’s where all the Black people go. Everybody’s buying in Edgartown now.”
And she even included that I sing. I rarely mention my music career.
“I had a ten-piece rock band, and those are the folks that you will hear on Tanya Hart Sings,” … “And I also hooked up with Christopher Brooks, who was Cab Calloway’s grandson, and we had a group and recorded some things.”
