2020 SAG Awards
The 2020 SAG Awards were broadcast live from Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. It’s always a lively night when actors pay tribute to actors! The members of SAG/AFTRA cast their votes to award their fellow peers.
This was the 26th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards and opened with “How I Became an Actor” speeches as they have done in the past.
It started with Christina Applegate, “My name is Christian Applegate and I am an actor.” “My name is Cynthia Erivo and I’m an actor.” Eugene Levy was next and told a long story about squeezing Charmin, and dragged on and on before his son, Daniel tried to get him to move on. He finally said, “My name is Eugene Levy and I am an actor.” “Let’s start the show.”
Eugene Levey and his son Daniel then took the stage to introduce the broadcast. They claimed not to be hosts and won’t be returning throughout the show, but they did present the first award of the evening for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. The 2020 SAG Award went to Tony Shalhoub for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He thanked the union and said, “It is a joy to know you. It is a pleasure to work alongside you.”

The In-Memoriam 2020 SAG Awards salute showed that we lost a lot of talent in just one year.
