Martha’s Vineyard serves as an island host to many outstanding events year round. One of the more star-studded Martha’s Vineyard events coming up this year is called On The Vine.
On The Vine is without a doubt the Vineyard event you do not want to miss.
On The Vine Fundraiser
On The Vine is a four-day music and arts fundraising event on Martha’s Vineyard benefiting life-saving kidney research and the American Friends of Rambam, the Rambam Medical Center.
On The Vine will be held on MV this year beginning August 22nd through August 25th, 2013. It’s the first time On The Vine is being held on Martha’s Vineyard. It is held in Santa Barbara once a year and is a unique festival that combines music, art, and fashion to raise money through the ultimate social expression of the arts.
On The Vine will take over a five-acre estate on Martha’s Vineyard to feature an unbelievable list of phenomenal talent. It’s a soulful event that brings together vacationers, concert goers, and islanders for a fundraiser with a purpose.
On The Vine entertainment opens with the music of Motown legend Smokey Robinson. Partnered with Smokey for a very special opening performance is Angie Stone. Angie Stone is an R&B artist, singer-songwriter and producer with three Grammy nominations and a big sound.
On the following evening, renowned percussionist Kahil El’Zabar will bring a music and art creation called The Elevation Project.
And the performance titled the Linen and Love Concert features none other than nine-time Grammy Award winner, songwriter, and kidney disease survivor, Natalie Cole.
As if Natalie Cole isn’t enough, she will also be joined by Babyface and Richard Lewis.
And on August 25th, the event will reach a crescendo with a jazz brunch featuring Roy Hargrove and James Carter.
