MTV MUSIC AWARDS 2013

MTV Music Awards 13

For the first time ever, the MTV Music Awards were held in Brooklyn, NY, and it was Justin Timberlake’s night! He took home the Video of the Year Award, won the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, had a huge chunk of the broadcast dedicated to his performance, and he finally reunited with his former band members, “N Sync.Justin Timberlake

Yes, it was Justin’s night, but Lady Gaga opened the show in Grand Gaga Style. She continually changed costumes right on stage, wigs included and ended in a tiny bikini featuring sea shells for bra cups.  Gaga kept it original, looked hot, and tore it up! You Go girl.

The first award of the night was given out by One Direction and went to Selena Gomez for “Come & Get It.” She took out Bruno Mars, Drake and Justin Timberlake to win the Best Pop Video.

And then there was Miley Cyrus.

Who isn’t talking about her performance? It was way over the top in an unflattering way, and Robin Thicke must have been just plain embarrassed as she gyrated around him. It was uncomfortable. Miley is trying way too hard to shake her Disney persona. Hopefully one day she will realize she doesn’t have to try so hard because it’s back-firing.

I know you’ve heard this one before, but Lil’ Kim looked almost unrecognizable when she took the stage due to her most recent nip and tuck. She introduced the Best Hip Hop Video, and the winner was Macklemore. He had a great night too.

Macklemore took home several trophies and performed “Same Love” with Ryan Lewis and Jennifer Hudson.

Kanye West shadow boxed through his performance, and Best Female Video went to Taylor Swift for “I Knew You Were Trouble”.

Jimmy Fallon took the stage to introduced Justin Timberlake’s block of the program and presented him with the Video Vanguard Award. Timberlake received a very long standing ovation, and he earned it because his performance did not disappoint.

Best Song of the Summer went to One Direction for “Best Song Ever”,  Drake performed “Started From the Bottom”, and Bruno Mars sang his ass off.

The big award of the evening, Best Video of the Year was all Justin’s for “Mirrors” just before Katie Perry closed the show with her latest hit “Roar” as she performed in a boxing ring at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Another big VMA’s. MTV knocked it out of the box again. Make sure you catch the reruns, there are just so many moments in the MTV Music Awards 2013 that you just have to see again!
