The NAACP Image Awards recognizes the outstanding achievements of people of color in television, literature, motion pictures and the arts. Tanya Hart took her Red Carpet Diary Series to the 42nd Annual NAACP Image Awards, and it was outstanding in every way. One of the highlights of the evening was when Prince presented Hallie Berry an Image Award for her roll in Frankie & Alice.
Out on the red carpet, Samuel L. Jackson made sure to share his views about roles for African American man in Hollywood, or the lack thereof, and celebrated television and stage actor Giancarlo Esposito stopped by to discuss Captain Tom Neville, the character he portrays on the breakout NBC hit Revolution.
Gospel Music Duo, Mary Mary, sisters Erica Atkins-Campbell and Trecina “Tina” Atkins-Campbell discussed bringing gospel music to the forefront and to the stage of the Image Awards, followed by actor Terrence Howard, Vanessa Williams, LL Cool J, and Sophia Vergara of Modern Family.
Tanya capped up her coverage with a few words from NAACP President, Benjamin Jealous and congratulated him on a stellar show.
